It’s only a matter of days left before the new James Bond movie Spectre is released and with excitement building about what the latest story has in store for us I thought I’d remind myself of the other movies by visiting the Bond In Motion exhibition at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden.

The ticket price (for an adult) of £14.50 was, I thought a bit steep but I have to be honest and say I actually enjoyed the exhibition, it’s mainly about the cars but there’s also a few other modes of transport including a crocodile submarine, aircraft, boats and motorcycles.

The displays are well laid out with good explanations and film footage from the relevant movies showing how the vehicles were used.

Every vehicle exhibited is an original that was seen on screen, there are no replicas. The majority have been loaned from the archive of EON Productions who produce the movies and the Ian Flemming Foundation who have located and restored a lot of the vehicles.

Throughout the exhibition there are some examples of the creative process from the production company’s art department showing some concept art and storyboards. Original scripts and clapper boards can also be seen.

There are also some costumes like a blood stained dinner jacket worn by Daniel Craig and some smaller props like passports and watches used and worn by various Bond’s through the years.

I’m not a massive James Bond fan but I did enjoy the exhibition and thought it was a fun way to spend a couple of hours particularly if the weathers not great. If you are a Bond fan then this exhibition should not be missed.
